Welcome to The Jynx web site!

The Jynx was a new progressive rock band hailing from Red Hook, Brooklyn, NYC. Founded by the two original members of the band According to Wendy, Steve Holder (bass, backing vocals) and Chris DaSilva (vocals, guitar), The Jynx also included Kevin "The Kochman" Koch (drums, percussion) and Joel "Bullfrog" Elmore on blues harp and backing vocals.

Adopting the principals of their former band, Chris and Steve set out to continue writing catchy melodic songs, and within just a couple of months had an extended repertoire and brought Kevin and Joel in to help tie it all together.

The music styles of The Jynx varied widely, from modern rock to rootsy reggae, soulful blues to alt-country. The common thread throughout all these songs and styles is a memorable melody and catchy hook.

The Jynx have since ceased to be, unfortunately, but you can still get their tunes! Their debut (and only!) EP is available on iTunes and at Amazon.
